OUR MISSION: To minister the gospel to children, youth & families throughout the world in creative and contemporary ways. To train & equip individuals for the purpose of evangelism internationally.
Garry and Brenda Kean have been ministering together from the young ages of 12 and 14, traveling full-time internationally for well over 20 years. Originally from Toronto, Canada and then 12 years in Nashville, Tennessee, they continue to reach out to today’s generation with quality and excellence. Their newest assignment has them living in Nairobi, Kenya working in the areas of church planting, worship & music, education, training and youth ministry.
Their experience ranges from appearing at church concerts, music festivals, conventions, public schools, and on television – to speaking at conferences, leading mission teams, as well as being featured guests at a Billy Graham rally.
The Keans have written and recorded numerous recordings and are creators of The Whimblies™. They have been a part of the creative force behind an internationally aired television series as well as producers of the award-winning Whimblies™ Christmas Special.
Garry and Brenda’s goal is to impact the family. Their concerts are contemporary and challenging, inspiring the youngest to the oldest. Their musical styles can easily adapt to any setting, from Sunday morning worship to upbeat youth concerts.
Garry is an ordained minister with the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel and a credentialed Missionary with Foursquare Missions International out of Los Angeles, CA. Garry & Brenda served as Associate Pastors at their local church in Nashville in the areas of children, missions, outreach, and as a worship leader.
The Kean’s have recently launched an contemporary urban church plant in Nairobi and continue to help form strategic interdenominational partnerships for developing citywide evangelism, worship, youth and children’s ministries and work to bridge several denominations and missions organizations within Kenya.
Through the ministry of Jacaranda Creations the Kean’s have helped many single women and mothers earn a living by sewing beautiful products through this rapidly growing microenterprise. Jacaranda Creations now has five branches including those in several slum areas around Nairobi as well as within the Maasai tribe.
Garry has written and directed several musical productions and has written songs for groups such as contemporary recording artists Sierra, Acquire the Fire, Carried Away, Natalie Grant and the children’s video series, The Roach Approach.
Garry’s newest solo recording, entitled “Long Road” is available in stores and by download on the iTunes and other retail and digital media outlets such as Amazon. The bonus download version contains 16 tracks all co-written by Garry and reflect both the worship and artist sides of Garry. Special guest friends/artists include Marianne Adams from the group Sierra, Christine Dente from Out of The Grey, and Phil Joel from The Newsboys.
The Keans’ heart is evangelism! Literally thousands have made decisions for Christ during the Keans’ ministry times. Their overseas mission trips and the training of others for ministry remain a vital part of their vision. Garry and Brenda have led numerous teams to Africa as well as national teams to the Dominican Republic and a youth to Los Angeles partnering with Angelus Temple and the Dream Center.
The Keans have four daughters: Kaitlyn (14), Lillian (11), Caeli (9) and Brayden (2).
